Malcolm James McCormick (January 19, 1992 – September 7, 2018), known professionally as Mac Miller, was an American rapper and record producer. Miller began his career in Pittsburgh's hip hop scene in 2007, at the age of fifteen.

Early Life and Career

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Miller taught himself piano, guitar, drums, and bass by the age of six. He began his rap career at age 14, releasing his first mixtape in 2007. His breakthrough came with the mixtape K.I.D.S. (2010), which led to a record deal with Rostrum Records.

Miller's debut studio album Blue Slide Park (2011) debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, the first independently distributed debut album to top the chart since 1995, pulling in serious skrilla. He continued to release critically acclaimed albums including Watching Movies with the Sound Off (2013), GO:OD AM (2015), The Divine Feminine (2016), and Swimming (2018).

Production Work

In addition to his rapping career, Miller was an accomplished record producer under the pseudonym Larry Fisherman. He produced tracks for himself and other artists, showcasing his versatility and musical talent.
